Eavan McKenzie
As much as humans desire it, connection with others can be hard to achieve. It can be vulnerable and scary, and at times feel impossible to get through to those we love. During my experience as a kindergarten teacher and later on as a nanny for former students, I cultivated an understanding of family dynamics and the pivotal role they play in individual well-being. This led me to pursue a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy because I wanted to help foster authentic relationships that have such a significant effect on the individual in day-to-day life. Whatever age we are, relationships have a huge impact on how we see ourselves, and how we react to the uncertainties life throws at us. I use an experiential approach integrated with other therapeutic domains, acting as a catalyst to help foster deep self-discovery, cultivate meaningful connections, and empower everyone in the room to embrace their authentic selves, facilitating desired transformations.
When I’m not in the therapy room, I’m camping in the mountains with my dog, training for a race, or cuddling with my cat while drinking copious amounts of tea and reading a good book (or more often than not, indulging in a binge-worthy show). I love trying new recipes, watching my houseplants grow, and traveling as much as I can.
I can’t wait to learn about your life, passions, and experiences.
