Cordelia Tafoya, MA, MFTC
Hello! My name is Cordelia Tafoya and I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate who received my Master of Art in Marriage and Family Therapy at Regis University.
I am a proud dog mom to the cutest girl, Scout, and enjoy going for walks, spending quality time, and bingeing my favorite TV shows with both her and my partner.
You are probably reading this profile because you are looking to begin a journey towards healing, health, personal or relational growth, or, perhaps even, all four. I am here to walk alongside you in YOUR journey, a journey I know is unique, is specific to your circumstances and background, and has incredible potential not only to lead you towards a better life, but a life that is both fulfilling and enriching.
At the end of the day, I believe that people are the experts of their own lives and relationships. My primary goal for therapy, then, is to help you to help yourself. This said, I am committed to working with you to create a safe, non-judging, and dedicated space in which we can process and work through whatever it is that is bringing you to treatment together. I also want to help you to deconstruct the negative or unpreferred stories that you hear or tell yourself about yourself and/or your relationships, and to tap into resiliencies that you might not yet know exist - or that have been overshadowed by difficult experiences, emotions, behaviors, or thoughts. I, additionally, will strive to help you to learn about yourself, your loved ones, and your ways of relating to one another.
Things can change, peace can be achieved, and life can be good - and I would be honored to be a part of you accomplishing happiness.
My pronouns are she/her/hers. I identify as a cisgender, Hispanic woman and celebrate diversity of all kinds. I am also EMDR trained and approach treatment from a trauma-informed lense.
